Ron and I have been so lucky to have a roof and good food last night. We were up till the wee hours of the morning reposting news that may be useful to the people, wet and cold out in the rain. The news left us heartbroken, we cannot possibly avert our eyes…

We are all bound by sadness. There are little gods inside us and we are, at the end of it all, one.

The number of people who turned up at the volunteer center along examiner street was amazing. People …

I left the office and it was drizzling. At around 10 AM I decided to drive to Monette’s place, and for some unknown reason, I grabbed Ferrari (My dog) and headed off to the parking lot. Water’s currently at ankle level, few minutes later, I realized I left my money in my apartment and so I made a full turn to realize that the area was no longer passable.
After 2 hours of trying to figure my way out of the Sampaloc maze, I got caught-up in a vehicle jam in …

steady
rest your heart along the banks of my chest
be still, be silent, be weak

infinity
when my demented heart finds yours,
we shall know immortality.

portents
it is your silence that scares me most
…its is your calm before my storm

blown
you have taken my breath away
and scattered my skin into million pieces…

flight
to you who defied gravity,
your soul is boundless

glide
you move like your fingers turning the pages of an old old book, gentle and quiet.
me, looking at you as you absentmindedly place your fingers to your lips,
wetting it to ease the passing of time.

The wind howls its hardest and somewhere in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, fishermen and their families gather together to seek refuge in the womb of the typhoon shelter. Here, the famous Typhoon Shelter Crab was born, a cuisine raved about by many including “No Reservations” host Anthony Bourdain. Of course you need not book a flight to China to get hold of those amazing crabs. Drop by Crustasia at Tri Noma and they make sure you get the same gastronomic experience had you been eating the dish while floating on …

It isn’t my hobby to eat, especially when I’m at the beach. The act essentially ruins the my outfit. Not that I care a lot about bikinis and the likes, I don’t know how to swim. I just get uncomfortable. Besides, there should be more room for booze in my tummy than lots of deliciously loathsome oysters.

Boracay is known as the number one summer destination in the Philippines replacing Baguio as the summer capital, but how about during the off peak season? Is it going to be the same Boracay as we know it?
Off peak season is from June to October, where rates are just half of its usual price. This season is perfect for backpackers and people with agoraphobia. It was raining non-stop, days before our scheduled trip. To some, it’s totally a bummer, for us it’s the perfect time to cover the trip:

Backpacking entails a lot of adventure. It’s a very cliché opening and I’m regretting the seconds that pass as I go to the next sentence, but there’s no other way to put it. Going to places, sampling food and immersing ourselves in different cultures have made us rich in terms of experience. Meeting people on the other hand has contributed greatly in our understanding of human diversity and the growth of our souls.
It was 4:00 am in Jalan Imbi and the hostel we placed our reservation in was still closed. …
