to the moon and back: the 2011 philippine blog awards
To find out that we have been selected as one of the finalists in this year’s Philippine Blog Awards was enough for us to drop our delicates while walking to our respective offices…
Yes, we want to say it: We did not expect this…
Why? Because a year ago, somebody mentioned that our blog is full of rated contents. Let’s just say you would not recommend us to people below 21 years old, doing research on travel.
But hey, that just makes the nomination and being quoted on the final list, and National Category at that, the sweetest thing we ever tasted since … martabak. (stop thinking kinky!)
Brace yourselves, this is about to sound like an acceptance speech…
The first gratitude goes to Flip. Dude, you don’t know what you did for the travel blogging community in this country. A year ago, there were only a handful of Pinoy Travel Bloggers (and we are humbled to be the co-founder of the group). Now, we are more that 200 strong spread across the country and abroad. Your vision to create this community is epic.
To the PTB community, you guys are our instant barkada. More instant than 3-in-1 coffee in a drunken morning. No pretentions, no salutations, no getting-to-know-you phase and we fast forward to drinking sessions and karaoke nights. To find a brood of wanderers sharing our passion for traveling is one of the most exhilarating feeling of not being alone. We will be bringing the Party house down in our future travels together.
To our loyal readers, you are the blood of this blog. We can still travel without updating this site. But knowing that there are people who actually read us destroys Monette’s writer’s block and makes Ron perform an advanced stage of mental diarrhea.
To the Philippine Blog Awards, thank you for recognizing that behind our sarcastic puns and crazy antics, we really love what we are doing…
