Ron and I have been so lucky to have a roof and good food last night. We were up till the wee hours of the morning reposting news that may be useful to the people, wet and cold out in the rain. The news left us heartbroken, we cannot possibly avert our eyes…

We are all bound by sadness. There are little gods inside us and we are, at the end of it all, one.

The number of people who turned up at the volunteer center along examiner street was amazing. People …

I left the office and it was drizzling. At around 10 AM I decided to drive to Monette’s place, and for some unknown reason, I grabbed Ferrari (My dog) and headed off to the parking lot. Water’s currently at ankle level, few minutes later, I realized I left my money in my apartment and so I made a full turn to realize that the area was no longer passable.
After 2 hours of trying to figure my way out of the Sampaloc maze, I got caught-up in a vehicle jam in …

a blanket of haze and smog still cover this land,
your absence left your people longing.
you kissed the soil with blood.
your tinged countrymen are still running towards the horizon
where the sun is sinking inexorably.
 you fell silent…
then you thought us how to ROAR!

I was 5 years old then. My parents were quietly watching the telecast of what seemed to be very a momentous event.
There’s a huge crowd, businessmen, nuns, soldiers, ordinary civilians, glowing in bright yellow
celebrating something that I don’t fully understand.
But the next thing I can remember, is that I’m sticking my thumb and index finger in the air while running around the house singing with the rest of the country celebrating what I recall they called rebirth of democracy.
Thank you for teaching me that leadership requires more than just wit …

On our third day, news started to spread like wildfire.
“A SUPER TYPHOON WILL HIT THE COAST IN 12 HOURS!”
Heck, nothing will stop us from going thru our itinerary. No storm will hold us back …

For so many years I’ve been bluffed by my elementary teachers that our Banaue Rice Terraces is officially one of the wonders of the world. Until someone burst-ed my bubble and said “it’s the 8th” … WHAT? we only got SEVEN right?!
Then we got a chance to change history in 2007, we got nominated. However, our very own Pinoy Rice Paddies didn’t make it to the New 7 wonders of the World. Whereas the whole world voted and it was announced two years ago.
BUT IT’S NEVER TOO LATE
We can still …
