Museum, Musicals and Money Games (Marina Bay Sands Singapore)

It seems like I am becoming the unofficial tour guide of my friends and fellow travel bloggers whenever they visit Singapore, or should I say, the official ambassador to hawkers and malls of this country. Most often than not, visitors to this little red dot would only want to see one thing to take their pictures with… Ulysses.

If you don’t know who Ulysses is, well, he’s the half Simba half Ariel icon of SIN city.
Couple of years ago, an “engineering wonder” rose from the bay and blocked the once unobstructed bay …

to the moon and back: the 2011 philippine blog awards

To find out that we have been selected as one of the finalists in this year’s Philippine Blog Awards was enough for us to drop our delicates while walking to our respective offices…
Yes, we want to say it: We did not expect this…
Why? Because a year ago, somebody mentioned that our blog is full of rated contents. Let’s just say you would not recommend us to people below 21 years old, doing research on travel.
But hey, that just makes the nomination and being quoted on the final list, and National …

damn you, captain morgan!

Dear Captain Morgan,
You made me hate myself that night you decided to invade the Philippines. It was worse than your friend Magellan when he booked his cheap package holidays to our archipelago half a century ago and decided to change the fate of my country as my ancestors knew it. I know, I know… You are Welsh and the other guy was Portuguese, but you pirates are all the same. That night, you made me a corporate sell-out. You made me sit, together with my friends, at a marked table. A table that …

pinoy travelers’ weekend

Who would have known that this September would be one of the most memorable months of our travel blogging experience. Years ago, we would never imagine getting within a hand-span distance from people who live and breathe travel. But the bug hit, and the rest of our not-so-boring, but still boring, lives are history.
First stop was the Solesister’s event “From Glampackers to Poorpackers” where I was invited to talk at the opening night. The topic: “Female Travel.” I know, I know… I felt a bit lost too, but I did try …

Admit it, at one point in your life you sang along with the Sesame Street ensemble and probably learnt the ABC’s and 123′s of the fundamentals of elementary school education with Maria, Ernie and Cookie Monster.
Last night, Monette and I had a face to face encounter with our familiar furry friends of yesteryear’s television. Not exactly Elmo, Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch, but incarnations of the puppets we love. It’s just that this time, they are not talking about counting numbers nor colors of the rainbow, but of sex, …

So why did we attend this year’s TravelTour Expo?
Because we are planning to avail a package complete from airport transfer to food, souvenirs and guided tour…
NOT!
Again, backpackers don’t get tours or vacation package, unless required for visa approval. If you have the money and don’t have the time to plan it, then TravelTour Expo is the best place to get SOME of the good deals. So other than the freebies and being surrounded with other travel hungry monsters, we attended this event just for the kick of it. We drove …

I’m the kind of person who would fall asleep watching Saw series. Cliches and lame copied scenes would enrage me. And post-movie anorexia happens if a film involves cheap CGI, stupid scripts and John Lloyd Cruz in it.
I watched UP yesterday. It was my first time to watch a full length 3D film here in the Philippines. I was kind of expecting a (well) fun Sunday afternoon kiddie film, but to my surprise, the first 10 minutes of the film already struck a nerve right on.
Ho-M-Gee Ho-M-Gee Ho-M-Gee! This is …
