OH-kay! So Mica of senyorita.net and Flip or Flipnomad.com pointed a shotgun on our throats to do this activity. We thought of giving it a shot, since when we were kids, we love messing up with our classmates’ slam books (and now, with their lives #LOL). So here goes nothing.
A: Age you made your first international trip
Our travels when we were kids (not so distant past) were plain insignificant because back then, we had nothing in mind but that big rat in tux. So our first “real” international trip together …

motherpacker!

No matter where we go, whether it is a short or long road adventure, be it a business trip to Dubai holidays in the Caribbean or backpacking in South East Asia, packing is the single most essential thing that could either make or break our escape. And sometimes, we still go back to the one who knows best and sometimes acts as if she knows everything, but nonetheless we listen to—our Moms.
Here are twelve of the respected seasoned (*cough*hottest) Filipino male travel bloggers and facts that correlates two of the things that have been …

#ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines Meme

Fliptravels.com was invited by the Department of Tourism together with the selected group of media for its launching of the new campaign slogan. After last year’s Kay Ganda Hullabaloo, every body’s itching and excited to have a new banner and move on from the horrid past.
Few minutes after the launch, the hashtag #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines spread on the web faster than a herpes virus in a college dorm.
But as expected, a lot of nega stars made some scenes all over twitterdom and facebook universe. And I quote “It is just another resurrected …

flying in style

Flying in style is something that we always admire. We have seen chic travelers in transit whose couture efforts gain attention when they sashay in these busy public ports: Bulgari coat complete with a full Louis Vuitton luggage ensemble is just one of the classic scenes we have seen in the past. Recently I saw a guy in his late 50′s who’s rockin’ the airport hall with a simple yet classic denim, plain white tees, a pair of Bally boots and a Balenciaga tote–your uncle really is owning it! (snap snap)

to the moon and back: the 2011 philippine blog awards

To find out that we have been selected as one of the finalists in this year’s Philippine Blog Awards was enough for us to drop our delicates while walking to our respective offices…
Yes, we want to say it: We did not expect this…
Why? Because a year ago, somebody mentioned that our blog is full of rated contents. Let’s just say you would not recommend us to people below 21 years old, doing research on travel.
But hey, that just makes the nomination and being quoted on the final list, and National …

damn you, captain morgan!

Dear Captain Morgan,
You made me hate myself that night you decided to invade the Philippines. It was worse than your friend Magellan when he booked his cheap package holidays to our archipelago half a century ago and decided to change the fate of my country as my ancestors knew it. I know, I know… You are Welsh and the other guy was Portuguese, but you pirates are all the same. That night, you made me a corporate sell-out. You made me sit, together with my friends, at a marked table. A table that …

road inked: stories underneath travelers’ tattoos

A cultural practice, a religious symbol, a mark of a hero, a baptism of fire, and more have characterized the tattoos of the early days (actually, even up to now). Today, this practice has cut across cultures and is borne by different gender, ages, and nationality. Some got it in Miami while in the middle of their Florida Holidays and some got it from a traditional Sak Yant Monk tattooist in a monastery in Laos. As I spend time on the road, I have noticed a huge population of travelers sporting one, if not …

snow flake crusted dream

Are we ready for a winter adventure?
It is almost mid autumn and travel expo’s all over the world have been very busy with their stints in the last couple of weekends. I even noticed that a lot of patients are walking in non stop and asking me for pre trip immunizations and flu shots are selling like pancakes that horrible longchamp tote on end of season sale.
They are all flying soon to Paris, Tokyo, London, New York and even Reykjavik, and I can only cringe of jealousy. But I don’t …
