what people think we do… as travel bloggers

Time for another meme… This one is still fresh off the oven.
A lot of people are consistently asking us what it is like to be a travel blogger. How on earth do we get to travel often? Do we really have day jobs to sustain the expenses on a trip? or maybe we just hop on a plane and have a sponsor pay for our weekend trip to Turkey all inclusive We thought of making one of these memes to illustrate our sentiments as travel travel bloggers and show what we ...

Oh yeah baby! We are in a good mood to channel a noontime show and throw out some giveaways!
We will be giving away our top three fab finds during our epic Thailand-Laos-Vietnam trip last month. Yes boys and girls and everybody in between (majority), there were idle times that we were sober enough to go out and do some (ehem) shopping!

FAB FIND#1 Our fave ...

hello stranger: new york

Can the difference among races, or our typecast of cultures and colors add spice to sexual friction? Manhattan’s allure includes the inherent multi-racial mix for a world sampling of cuisine of the carnal kind. As a Filipino first-timer in the Big Apple, the temptation and excitement of this international diversity is too irresistible to pass up.
Mid-Manhattan, on a midwinter night’s chill offers a white-collar joint called Therapy Bar. The few nights I was there, I was a hit. All I did was to be an unusually tall Asian, whose eyes ...

hello stranger: rio de janeiro

You were walking towards me
With a big smile
You took my hand and said “hi”

That look on your face when I first saw you in that fashion show go-see, made my world run in slow motion for a moment.
And that same look on your face while you were standing still in the departue hall of Galeão Airport, put my life in a dizzying whirl.
I know it was really short, one week isn’t enough to say that it wasn’t just another runway fling.
But what we shared to each other in that crazy ...

hello stranger: singapore

a city girl from another country…
a vacation from all antiquity…
defying norms of old age…
breaking free from rigidity, embracing savage…

in a night that was young, she ventured out to meet friends to have fun…
she thought of a sit-down dinner and overflowing conversations of things that matter…
but lo and behold, dinner was made of whiskey and wine…
and conversations were of what was then a crime…
boldly introduced as a single yet unavailable man-hater…
he spoke like a gentleman, and smiled like one…
then the liquor eradicated all that jitters…
by and by, she was then found ...

hello stranger: tawi tawi

I’ve done this before.
.
..
…
It’s 5am. I went to the airport not expecting anything. It was too early for me to think.
All i know at this point is that i have a boarding pass on my way to Tawi-tawi.
I was wearing drawstring pants. I barely looked presentable. Fashion statement? I think not.
While queuing for my terminal fee, i noticed a Chinese looking gentleman in front of me.
It was interesting to see his chinky eyes amidst the people wearing traditional Muslim robes.
He was carrying a black duffel bag. Not very big, I ...

hello stranger: stockholm

My eyes laid on the immediate panoramic landscape of Stockholm. It was my first view of the city during daylight and my first legit reactions to the stunning view: a juxtaposition of quiet countryside living and dense city life blanketed in that famous Stockholm earth-tone hue. It was only 5 minutes ago that I looked to the right side of my bed to see another view – pale, white skin hiding under crisp and clear white sheets. This was the polar opposite of a Cayote Ugly moment. This morning, my ...

hello stranger: cebu

I went to Cebu in December 2009 on a trip that was supposed to be with a 5th grade sweetheart I reconnected through Facebook. Everything was set, the dates, the itinerary and she bought the tickets too. Until, a few weeks before going home, she and her sister stopped over in Bangkok and in a spate of bad luck she contracted AH1N1 virus and was hospitalized for two weeks. Needless to say, our trip didn’t pushed through as she needs the remaining one week of vacation leave to be spent ...

chamorro and more

We entered the gates of SMX convention center and we were greeted with swaying music from a group of people sitting on a corner platform, the aqua floral skirts and shirts made us suspect that Lito Atienza was all behind the gig, the beach-y music and the smiles on their faces lured a crowd like mermaids hypnotizing seafarers down to the deep oblivious seabed.
Then BHAM! Some cute half naked boys in hay skirts started ambushing the lulling crowd with their sticks whirling in the air. (Sticks, bamboo sticks and stop thinking ...

Life is a ripe tomato

We signed up for a contest sponsored by Heinz and United Airlines, and the peg is to write about our Heinz Fun experience.
Instead of writing the usual strokes in article, I was inspired to hit two birds in one stone and write a letter instead–A letter addressed to my condiment choice and my objet d’amour. Because my fun experience with this bottle of goodness happened when I was drowning in love, and cheesy as it may sound but when you are in love, you tend to associate and relate every single ...
