OH-kay! So Mica of and Flip or pointed a shotgun on our throats to do this activity. We thought of giving it a shot, since when we were kids, we love messing up with our classmates’ slam books (and now, with their lives #LOL). So here goes nothing.

A: Age you made your first international trip

Our travels when we were kids (not so distant past) were plain insignificant because back then, we had nothing in mind but that big rat in tux. So our first “real” international trip together was in 2008 when we booked that flight to Macau and Hong Kong. What age? That was 2008, so around 20-ish.

B: Best (foreign) beer you’ve had and where

This is like asking who’s your favorite? Your Mommy or your Daddy (…or you “Daddey-SPANK-SPANK!“).

FINE! Bintang (Bali), Angkor (Siem Reap), Stella Artois (tried it first in Manila) and Kronenbourg Blanc (tried it first in Singapore).

C: Cuisine (Favourite)

(Ron) Thai, because it is pandemic, you can get the same authentic taste anywhere in the world where there is a Thai restaurant. (Monette) Any non-spicy cuisine, the only spice Monette can torerate is cinnamon… and vanilla. Pepper and chili will reduce her to a Rachel Zoe in a buffet party.

D: Destinations. Favourite. Least Favourite. Why.

Favorite would be Siem Reap and Bali. Why? Well, we believe, that what makes a destination meaningful are the memories that you associate with it… and THAT WOULD BE ALL. Obrigado Brazil! (Pageant wave)

F: Favourite mode of transportation

Tuktuks, Bicycles, Motorbikes … being versa is a talent Ron is yet to master (be it a cheap car hire usa or a japanese toy car back home, shifting from left to right hand driving is not our cuppa).

G: Greatest feeling while travelling

The 3D’s: Drunk. Dripping with sweat and Dizzily dancing.

H: Hottest place I’ve travelled to

Cambodia during the summer of 2009. We  were sweating like pigs and we seriously asked ourselves: “what’s burning?” because we really could smell something was burning—it was our skin! TRUE STORY!

I: Incredible service you’ve experienced and where

Some hidden nook somewhere along West Avenue Quezon City (eMail us for the details). And it was really cheap for a service of someone who looks like Ric—-WAIT, I think we misunderstood the question.

J: Journey that took you the longest

That one trip to (cue instrumental piano) Self Discovery … char!

(Ron) The hard seat train ride from Shanghai to Beijing which took two days. (Monette) Manila to Negombo, we were both in transit for 24 hours because of connecting flights and layovers in three different countries.

K: Keepsake from your travels

We would be a total pageant rats if we answer: “the memories that you shared with the people you meet on the road.” But yeah, it would be the stories and memories of random people on the road… And Keychains. And Refrigerator Magnets. And beer shirts.

L: Let down sight. Why and where?

Any destination where there is prostitution… Because they are so damn expensive! It’s like watching a Julia Child cooking show, you can only look, drool and not eat it.

M: Moment where you fell in love with travel

For us, lust came in first. We were aroused with travel when we both decided to get lost one weekend of 2007, and found ourselves making out with lady wanderlust in the sinful beaches of Puerto Galera in Mindoro, Philippines. Just like most weekend flings, we longed for it and the next thing we knew, we were already booking four flights out of the country.

N: Nicest hotel you’ve stayed in

It was not a huge hotel, we are just not fans of bell boys and concierge in suits. But the nicest place we stayed in is a small boutique B&B in the hills of Kandy, Sri Lanka.

O: Obsession. What are you obsessed with taking pictures of while traveling?

Other than ourselves, yes we are cam whores, we love taking pictures of random people.

P: Passport stamps. How many and from where?

No we are not checking our passports and start counting stamps. Too lazy.

Q: Quirkiest attraction you’ve visited and where.

Wangfujing aka. The Fear Factor walk of Beijing. Where the whole cast of pixar’s animated film, A Bug’s Life, are skewed and crusted with spices and who-knows-what-other-ingredients on it.

R: Recommended sight, event, or experience.

Sight. An early morning walk in the temples of Angkor.

Event. We don’t usually go to a place when we know it is going to be crowded like purgatory.

Experience. Take a long train ride when you are traveling alone. Board with no expectation and alight with a lot of stories to tell.

S: Splurge. Something you have no problem forking over for while travelling.

This is like asking an Anteater “What’s for lunch?”

Booze! We celebrate, we vent out, we relax and even spend idle time with a bottle of local beer. That is why the first thing we do when we go back home, is to make sure to splurge in Liver function test and detox therapy.

T: Touristy thing you’ve done

Asking random people to take a picture of us in front of a popular iconic structure because we are too lazy to to bring a tripod. I know we are all guilty!

U: Unforgettable travel memory

MTM (Many to mention) hahahaha! Each and every trip got a special spot in our hearts and every single one is worth remembering and deemed unforgettable.

V: Visas. How many of them and for where.

In our current passports: Sri Lanka, Singapore (for work), USA and China.

W: Wine, best glass while traveling and where.

We usually drink beer and the which ever is the local liquor of our destination. Wine drinking is too posh for our traveling style that we would feel perpetually guilty unless it’s for free. But back home, we love wine and cheese nights with our friends, and so far the best we had was a 4 year old semi-sweet Steigelmann Gimmeldinger Meerspinne Riesling Kabinett (Don’t fret, it’s German, not martian).

X: eXcellent view and from where

Other than on the bed of those mornings that we woke up with the one we love (#Cheesy), the one that left us speechless was the view from the Srah Srang in Siem Reap Cambodia during sunrise.

Y: Years spent traveling

Going four years.

Z: Zealous sports fans and where

Bear wrestling. LOL
